Past Projects:

2004 – Installation of a control system at the Pump House
2006 – Water Tower telemetry work was completed
2006 – Water Tower access road preliminary work was completed

2005-2007 – Route 139/Waterville Road upgrade – Due to the DOT installing drainage, the water line had to be moved.  Because the water line was old transite pipe (cement/asbestos) and would break if moved, new ductile iron pipe was installed.

2007 – In preparation of the new one-arch bridge, a new water main had to be run on the  river bed, crossing from Oosoola Park to the River Road.   The retired water main had to be removed from the old bridge prior to it’s demolition.

2013 – A 75′ deep backup well was drilled and casing installed.

2013 – New pump house fencing with a rolling gate were installed.  Paid with grant funds.

2014 – The water tower was inspected and cleaned.

2014-2016 Route 8/Smithfield Rd upgrade – Due to the DOT installing ditches, the water main had to be moved.  Because the water line was old transite (cement/asbestos) and would break if moved, new C900 PVC pipe was installed.  Some grant funds were used on this project.

2016 – A water tower access road (including a swinging gate) was installed.  These were paid with grant funds.

2016 – The water tower was painted, inside & out.  This was paid with grant funds.

2017 – New water tower fencing was installed.  This was paid with grant funds.

2017 – Pump house controls were upgraded.  These were paid with grant funds.

2017 – The pump house driveway was relocated due to safety issues.  This was paid with grant funds.

Routine Maintenance:

2021 – As curb stops fail, Andy & Dave need to repair and/or replace them.

June 2022 – Replacement of a section of the Willow Street water main, from the Maple Street intersection to the end of the line on Willow Street.

In 2025 the lower end of Main Street was replaced from the intersection up to where the RR tracks were removed (by Stanley Dr & Depot St).  We received a low interest loan and a grant in the form of loan forgiveness for this project.

In the fall of 2025 into 2026, the water main from the pump house needed to be relocated to the corn field on the opposite of the road due to exposure from river flooding in December 2023 and previous years.   We received a grant from the ME DOT and were also allowed to utilize leftover funds from the Main Street project to complete this work.
