Water Quality

Ensuring Water Quality

The Norridgewock Water District uses ground water as its water source.  There are two gravel-packed wells located on Upper Main Street in Norridgewock.  One well has been in production since the water district started in 1953.  The second well was drilled in 2012.  We hope to put it into production soon, now that the pump house controls have been upgraded and that well is on-line.

We are proud that we do not need to treat our water.  We have never added fluoride to our water.  This was voted down by a referendum ballot in 2001.

Our water storage tank can hold 300,000 gallons of water.  This will supply the town with water for approximately one and a half days.
