All public water systems in Maine were required to conduct a Lead Service Line Inventory in 2024. None of the public water lines or service line materials on the Norridgewock Water District side contain lead. Through records review, field inspection or customer self-identification, in all but two cases we know there is no lead on either side of the water system service lines. There are two vacant homes where we were not able to speak with the homeowners or gain access inside to see if the customer-owned portion contains lead. Based on the rest of the system not containing lead, it is unlikely that these two homes contain lead. Until we are able to speak to the property owners or see the connections for ourselves, we have to report that the Lead Status is Unknown.
